Confidential work · Cummins · Summer 2024

Two projects supporting launch preparation and account planning.

My main project gathered customer and account insight for the planned launch of a next-generation 15-liter engine. My second project turned fragmented delivery information into an interactive Power BI and Excel planning tool.

Confidentiality noteI am unable to display the tangible work I produced because the original materials contain confidential company and customer data. The descriptions below explain my role and contributions without sharing that information.

01 · Project one · Launch preparation

Preparing customer insight for a future engine launch.

My main project supported preparation for the planned launch of a next-generation 15-liter engine. I interviewed 28 account executives covering more than 30 customer accounts to understand current-product satisfaction, customer use cases, technical and feature needs, transition concerns, and likely product adoption.

I combined structured ratings with qualitative feedback, identified recurring themes, and organized the findings into a launch-communication package for senior stakeholders.

What I gathered

Account context, customer needs, current-product feedback, use cases, technical priorities, and transition concerns.

What I produced

A consolidated launch-communication package, supporting data, an executive presentation, and clear customer-requirement themes.

02 · Project two · Single source of truth

Creating one reliable place for delivery planning.

My second project addressed delivery information spread across product codes, shipment history, distribution centers, and lead-time sources. I worked with colleagues across logistics, supply chain, purchasing, pricing, product, and engineering to understand and reconcile those inputs.

I then developed an interactive Power BI and Excel tool designed to serve as a company-wide single source of truth. Users could select a product or engine configuration, destination, and originating distribution center to view an estimated delivery time for account-planning conversations.

03 · Key takeaways

Good project work depends on connecting people and information.

Work cross-functionally

I learned how much progress depends on building relationships across account teams, pricing, product, logistics, supply chain, purchasing, and engineering.

Navigate technical conversations

I did not need to be the engineer in the room. I needed to ask useful questions, understand the implications, and communicate effectively with technical specialists.

Make complexity usable

I translated customer, account, and operational information into the right format for senior stakeholders and customer-facing teams to use.

04 · My role

Meaningful ownership within larger company initiatives.

I owned the research, synthesis, communication package, and planning-tool work assigned to me. These projects supported broader launch and account-planning efforts, while product, pricing, roadmap, customer, and supply-chain decisions remained with the relevant teams.
